Effective mobile workforce management rewarded
A major event in the heating and plumbing industry calendar took place last week, in the form of the Installer Live Awards, hosted at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Some 600 heating and plumbing professionals, forming a large proportion of the mobile workforce within the industry, attended the event. They were all eager to hear who had been judged among the best in the business.
Among the entries were almost all the key organisations in the sector. However, there could only be one winner from each region for the Installer of the Year award. New Charter Building Company won the ultimate title of UK Installer of the Year, proving its engineers are among the best and that its service management solutions work effectively.
Also named among the best in the UK, in terms of the performance of their mobile workforce, were AC Wilgar, Npower and T&A Heating.
Guests at the event enjoyed entertainment from the host, comedian Rufus Hound, and also raised over £10,000 for charity on the night.
The awards illustrated how standards for field service management are improving all the time. With the right service management solutions and plenty of dedication, any mobile workforce can reach these standards.
